where it all began
i’m matthew, and i’ve lived with asthma for most of my life. like a lot of asthmatics, my inhaler has always been close by, in my pocket, on my bedside table, or at the bottom of a bag. it's something I rely on daily, yet it's never felt designed to be part of my life.
it began with a simple thought. the inhaler, a lifeline for millions, has looked the same since 1956. reliable, yes, but never truly considered.
why should something so essential feel left behind?
that question became our starting point. we wanted to bring the inhaler into the present, to create something crafted with precision and care.
the vision
the future should not accept that a condition affecting millions is supported by systems and products that feel outdated, fragmented, and overlooked. asthma is part of everyday life for so many, and the way it is supported should reflect that reality.
hale exists to build products and services that genuinely support asthmatics, today and in the future. support that is considered, well designed, and rooted in a real understanding of daily experience living with asthma.
the vision is simple, to redefine what everyday asthma essentials can be, and to build products and services that actively support asthmatics in their daily lives. by improving design, experience, and engagement, the aim is to reduce misunderstanding, encourage confidence, and help prevent avoidable asthma related harm wherever possible.
